Anatomy Anatomical features of the mantle Anatomy of the mantle in cross-section
Mantles in cross-sections can sometimes clearly be differentiated into distinct layers, or sometimes only in outlines. For example, there can be an outer layer of more loosely arranged hyphae, in the middle part larger cells can occur and small diameter hyphae in inner mantle portions. The most inward hyphae, adjacent to root cells are commonly somewhat different in form from the other hyphae. |
