Hyphae are united as fans close to the rhizomorph. Fans may be broader at their basis and become thinner at distances or they may cause even a rather large plain. Such fans are often found in connection with flat decayed litter or enveloping mineral soil polygons and may also connect the rhizomorphs with fans originating from the mycorrhiza.
