  Mycorrhizal systems irregularly monopodial-pinnate to irregularly monopodial-pyramidal, ends silvery in patches, almost straight, grey to greyish-brown, very tips hyaline or light orange-brown, older parts brown to grey-brown; sections of middle mantle layers show hyphae which look like antlers of a deer, with obtuse lobes, only at inflated parts up to 7 um in diam.; hyphae of inner mantle layers only at inflated parts up to 6 um in diam.; autofluorescence of mantle in section with UV-filter whitish, with blue-filter yellowish white; mantle in sulfo-vanillin with pink walls, in brillant-cresyl-blue walls greyish blue, in cotton-blue walls bluish, in acid fuchsin walls slightly pink; several nuclei per cell.
